The Northern Liner Company has seen an increased demand this spring for its well established overwintered liners and is increasing its production area by a further 2 acres this year to meet demand. This will give 250k additional strong overwintered liners, bringing the overwintered total to well over one million liners available for early spring delivery.
New additions to their range include varieties of Buddleja’s Buzz, Eucalyptus Baby Blue, Heuchera’s, Lavenders, Sambucus Black Tower, Ferns and many more. Buddleja Buzz Sky Blue, Ivory, Lavender and Magenta are all dwarf varieties with the usual Buddleja sized flower heads, ideal for the borders or patios.
Heuchera Blackberry Crisp was Terra Nova’s first in the CRISP range from their breeding program. It has deep purple crinkled, crisp foliage turning to deep purple black. Heuchera Root Beer has red to brown leaves and white flowers.
In the Lavandula Ruffles series, there is Blueberry (deep Mauve/purple), Strawberry (mid pink) and Mulberry (deep pink) all compact neat varieties with chunky rippled bracts giving a ruffled appearance. Sedum Wols Best Red has purple-red foliage and medium rosy red flowers.

Growing on 105 acres of inherently fertile Grade 1 soil, excellent fibrous root systems are developed which when combined with a strict growing regime, produce strong healthy trees suitable for the most challenging situations. Young Plants of Shrubs,Trees & Grafts
Batouwe Nurseries specializes in growing and making young plants and trees.We offer a wide range of cuttings, p9 liners and grafted young trees in containers and also bare root.
For our p9 liners we use an 18 hole mulitray, which is very easy to use. We prune all the p9 liners before Christmas, so the plants will bush out well the following spring when you are ready for potting on. The plant will not suffer ‘pruning shock’ when the p9 is potted, so it will root out straight away. It will also save handling – put the multitray at the potting machine and pot straight into your 2 or 3 litre pot.
The cuttings are offered in 3 sizes, a 104 hole multitray (3.0/4.0 cm diameter), a 66 hole multitray (4.5/5.0 cm diameter) and a 40 hole multitray (6.5/7.0 cm diamter). We offer a wide range of over 500 varieties of cuttings.
We also offer whips and grafts in containers from p9 liners up to 10 litre containers, useful for those who want to plant before their busy season starts. The tree can root out before the winter and when spring comes it will grow straight away without watering. You will not have any losses, and the first years growth is superb. The sizes of the whips are from 40/60 up to 200/250. |
