HortiHydrate Bio, the revolutionary sustainable liquid wetting agent from Hortifeeds, has received an incredibly successful reception from the horticultural industry since its launch last year.
Scooping the prestigious ‘Best professional product/service’ at Four Oaks in 2022, HortiHydrate Bio went on to win the British Christmas Tree Growers Association (BCTGA) Innovation Award, and also achieved coveted Soil Association approval.
Horticulturalist and Four Oaks judge Howard Drury said of the winning product in his summary last year: “This is one of the very first (wetters) that is actually organic so we aren’t putting anything plastic into the soil – for people who want to try to be organic or for people who want to use peat free compost this is going to be ideal – I can see this being popular with a wide range of growers.”
Malcolm Mullender of the Professional Sprayers People (Judge of the BCTGA award), said of the winner: “This Hortifeeds product – HortiHydrate Bio ticks a lot of boxes and clearly has applications in various markets; I can see this becoming a popular choice ….”
HortiHydrate Bio has been formulated by leading experts from a unique blend of sustainable ingredients. It boasts equivalent performance to standard synthetic surfactants but is also environmentally friendly, representing a vast improvement over products that are currently available and manufactured using unsustainable hydrocarbon processes.
Use of surfactant wetting agents is widely recognised as a cost-efficient way of ensuring water and nutrients are spread evenly throughout growing media. Wetting agents allow the media to absorb water more readily and improve even distribution throughout the media – helping to improve substrate permeability and reducing dry spots through hot spells. HortiHydrate Bio is effective with both regular low-level applications and higher rate longer interval applications making it ideal for a wide variety of crops and growing situations.
